The FANDR Homestead

What is a FANDR Homestead?

A FANDR Homestead brings together simple architectural forms, natural Australian materials and traditional craftsmanship, designed for the way families live now. Timber, stone and steel are left as finished surfaces, so every detail is honest and built to last.

Each one is designed around its land, from coastal blocks in Gerringong and Kiama to rural acreage in Bowral and Berrima.

Our philosophy

"Maybe the answer was to strip it back"

Nate Roussos started as a carpenter, often told his attention to detail was too fussy. FANDR is built on the idea that you simplify the architecture, never the craftsmanship. We put more into less.

Questions

Building with FANDR

How much does a custom home cost on the South Coast?

As a guide, our custom homes start from around $1.5 million. Your site, the size of the home and your finishes all affect the final cost, which is why we design to your budget from the first sketch and price every home accurately before you commit. We also design and build smaller studios and secondary dwellings.

How long does it take to design and build a home?

Allow around six months from starting design to a signed building contract. Construction time depends on the size of the home and the site, and you'll have a build program with your contract.

Can you build from my architect's plans?

Yes. We're happy to collaborate with your architect or designer and bring our building knowledge in early.

Do you build on sloping or bushfire-prone sites?

Yes. We review every site's survey, council rules and bushfire, flood and heritage overlays before we design, so your home suits the land from the start.
